JCR NMC 2010
Air rifle National Marksmanship Competitions (NMC) is a very popular activity within all of the CRPGs across Canada for both male and female JCRs. For individuals that have not been exposed to the marksmanship principles, it is an opportunity to learn a new skill. For those that have some experience, it is an opportunity to improve their skills and further pursue the sport of target shooting or hunting. To further enhance the interest within the JCR Programme for marksmanship there was a NMC hosted by 1 CRPG at the Explorer Inn Yellowknife, NT from 14-16 May 10. The competition determined the top individual and top team within all the CRPGs. JCRs that participated in the NMC not only competed to the best of their ability but also enjoyed themselves and had fun.
The JCR National Marksmanship Competition was a success. 2 teams from each CRPG, totalling 49 JCRs, participated in the competition and the results are as follows:
- 1st Place Individual - Jesse Beaudoin from 2 CRPG-Blanc Sablon, QC;
- 2nd Place Individual - Angharad Ward from 4 CRPG-Hudson's Hope, BC;
- 3rd Place Individual - Danielle Marcote from 1 CRPG-Pelly Crossing, YK;
- 1st Place Team - Team 1 from 2 CRPG - Bianca Côté-Schefferville, QC, Jesse Beaudoin-Blanc-Sablon, QC, Dylan Griffin-Blanc-Sablon, QC, Pallu Qumaluk-Puvirnituq, QC, Frederic Dumas-Blanc-Sablon, QC;
- 2nd Place Team - Team 2 from 5 CRPG - Nickolas Comby, Daniel Johnson, Jerome Bradley, Billy King, Cassandra Pye; all from Mary's Hr, NL patrol; and
- 3rd Place Team - Team 1 from 1 CRPG - Elisha Sembmoen-Haine Jonction, YK , Danielle Marcote-Pelly Crossing, YK, Ooleesee Akeeagok-Grise Fiord, NU, Scott Angnarak-Pangnirtung, NU, Andrew Atatahak-Kugluktuk, NU.
