ADMINISTRATION
INSURANCE
1. In order to assist and protect members of the JCR, and to manage risks to the Crown, the JCR Programme will purchase and hold an insurance policy covering participants and property for liability and accident (injury and damage).
2. Insurance is procured by Director Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers (D Cdts & JCR) and covers all JCRs, AC members, volunteers and elders while taking part in CRPG approved activities.
INSURANCE CLAIMS
3. Insurance claims by JCRs, AC members, volunteers and elders must include all original receipts and standard claim form signed and dated. Claims must be forwarded to D Cdts & JCR through CRPGs, in a timely manner.
EMERGENCY CARE
4. The medical care by the medical services of the CF may be extended to JCRs and volunteers, in an emergency, for examination and treatment in order to alleviate pain and suffering and to preserve life to the extent required to evacuate the patient to a civilian medical facility.
5. Volunteers will not be provided any elective care, treatment or medication by the CF medical services.
REPORTING
6. When civilian medical care is provided, the JCR Patrol Leader, or in his/her absence the person who authorized the care, shall inform the CRPG, who will inform the Regional Medical Liaison Officer (RMLO) at Regional Cadet Support Unit within 24 hours of the circumstances necessitating emergency medical care. The RMLO shall arrange for any further medical care.
MEDICAL EXAMS
7. Canadian Rangers, JCR’s, volunteers and JCRs shall be medically examined or produce evidence of medical fitness, if required, in accordance with orders and instructions issued by the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS).
PAYMENT
8. Accounts rendered by civilian medical practitioners, hospitals or clinics for medical care or examinations provided in an emergency, shall be sent to the CRPG JCR Staff, who will then forward them to the RMLO for payment in accordance with procedures established by the CDS.
